Aloha Tempeh Stir-Fry

Aloha Tempeh Stir-Fry

Stir-fry is the perfect quick dinner: choose whatever veggies you have in the fridge, toss with your favorite Life Foods dressings or pantry staples, serve with fresh or leftover grains and then enjoy! Dinner is done in about 20 minutes, and you and your family are enjoying a wonderful, plant-based meal. This recipe uses our Aloha Tempeh, made from our own culture and mung beans– it’s 100% soy free and 200% yummy. Life Foods White is our creamy, dairy-free mayo with a base of taro and sauerkraut, and it makes a great drizzle for this simple dish. Our mineral-rich and savory Gomasio will bring a salty-umami awesomeness as a garnish.

  • 1 Tbsp Life Foods White for garnish
  • 1 Tbsp Life Foods Superfood Gomasio for garnish
Instructions
  1. Cube tempeh. Add 1 Tablespoon coconut oil to a cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan. Heat on medium high until warm, then add tempeh. Cook for five minutes, then flip. Cook tempeh until browned on all sides, about 15 minutes. Remove tempeh from pan.
  2. Add remaining oil to pan and add onions. Lower heat slightly and cook until onions are soft and browning. Add broccoli and cook until slightly browned. Add carrots and red peppers and cook until just tender.
  3. Toss tempeh with veggies. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil, lemon juice and soy sauce and toss again. Drizzle with White sauce and sprinkle with Gomasio.
Recipe Notes

You can choose the veggies listed above or choose a selection of your favorites. Firmer veggies like cauliflower, fennel or beets need to cook longer than cabbage, spinach or mushrooms. Serve your perfect stir-fry on a bed of quinoa, brown rice or other whole grains. This stir-fry can also be served in lettuce wraps or in a wrap itself.
