Fancy Burgers!

Our superfood veggie burgers make healthy eating convenient, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring! Here’s some of our favorite recipe suggestions for some fancy burgers that would be equally at home at a barbeque or at a dinner party. Enjoy!

Base Ingredients
  • 4 each Life Foods Superfood Veggie Burgers
  • 4 each gluten-free or sprouted grain buns
  • Life Foods Red, White and Yellow as needed
Perfect Vegan Cheeseburger
  • 4 slices Daiya Vegan Cheese any flavor
  • 4 slices fresh tomato
  • Lettuce as needed
  • Sliced dill pickles as needed
Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Burgers
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups thinly sliced onions
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • pinch each salt and sugar
  • Lettuce as needed
Spicy Kimchi Burgers
  • 1 each cucumber sliced thinly
  • 1 cup Life Foods Aloha Kimchi drained
  • 1/2 cup Life Foods White
  • 1/2 cup Life Foods Red
  • 2 Tbsp Life Foods Banana Thai-chi Hot Sauce more as needed

Spicy Kimchi Burgers

  • 1 cup Life Foods Aloha Kimchi drained
  • 1/2 cup Life Foods White
  • 1/2 cup Life Foods Red
  • 2 Tbsp Life Foods Banana Thai-chi Hot Sauce more as needed
Instructions
Base Ingredients
  1. Stovetop Method: Add a teaspoon of olive oil to a skillet. Warm over medium heat, then add frozen burger. Cook until browned on the bottom, about five to ten minutes. Flip, then cook until warmed through and browned on the second side. Best if served immediately. Oven Method: Add frozen burgers to an oven or toaster oven (if using a baking pan, parchment paper is recommended) and cook on 400ยบ for 15 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Best if served immediately.
  2. Toast buns lightly or according to package directions. Set aside until ready to use.
Perfect Vegan Cheeseburger
  1. To build the burgers: Spread Life Foods White onto bottom bun. To build the burgers: Cover bottom bun with vegan cheese and toast lightly until cheese melts. Top with cooked burger, then garnish with tomato, lettuce and pickles as desired. Spread top bun with Life Foods Red or Yellow, and dig in!
Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Burgers
  1. Add olive oil to a large skillet. Add onions and stir to coat. Let cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a pinch of salt and sugar and stir to combine, cooking five minutes more. Remove from skillet.
  2. Add mushrooms to the same pan. Let cook on medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes until fully wilted and soft. Add onions back to pan.
  3. To build the burgers: Spread Life Foods White onto bottom bun. Add cooked burger, then top with a good amount of onions and mushrooms. Spread top bun with Life Foods Yellow, and enjoy!
Spicy Kimchi Burgers
  1. To build the burgers: Spread Life Foods White onto bottom bun. Add cooked burger, then top with drained kimchi, cucumber and lettuce.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together Red, White and Banana Hot Sauce until smooth. Spread onto top bun or serve as a spicy-sweet dipping sauce.
