Ashwagandha is a common herb used in Ayurvedic medicine, growing prolifically in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The plant bears yellow flowers and red-orange berry-sized fruit. All parts of the plant are used for herbal medicine, however it is mostly the root that is commonly found in Western herbal remedies. This powerhouse of a plant is sometimes referred to as "Indian Ginseng" because of its many uses and strong healing properties.
